2021 Cityview's Best of Des Moines
January was an amazing month; my kids and their families came to visit; and on January 13, I received an email from Cityview that ‘Tracy Marie Photography is a finalist in CITYVIEW’s annual Best of Des Moines awards’! Between spending time with everyone, it was definitely great birthday present! I always knew God’s timing would be perfect and sure enough everything seems to be lining up perfectly!
Photography has been something that has a special place in my heart; from the first picture I ever took to the most recent.
On January 29, I took the day off from my full-time job to watch the awards on you tube on my tv (due to the pandemic the awards ceremony was done differently this year). Jackie’s voice came on announcing the ‘Finalist for Best Local Photographer’; and after reading the 3 Finalist she says, ‘Winner of the Best Local Photographer is Tracy Marie Photography’; I had so many mixed emotions. You name it I was feeling it. And had to rewind it to hear it again; you could say I was shocked. Everything I have worked for, going back to school, going to seminars had panned out. I have always had so many emotions when taking on this adventure, but I know with all the support I have, I could do it. And knowing there are people out there that seen and recognized what I do.
I have a lot of people to thank; and they know who they are. It was such an honor; as we know there are so many talented photographers in town, some in business for years, and some just starting; and this makes me blessed to be recognized.
