Gia | Senior

I loved working with beautiful Gia for her senior pictures! Gia’s beautiful big smile popped for her entire session! We had a really great, easy breezy session! I even learned what Tik Tok was. Gia plays softball on the Varsity team at Johnston High School, and after graduation she will be attending Iowa State University. This young girl is so determined.

With this session though is a beautiful story. Gia just a few days old was left in a box outside a government building in southern China. Raised in an orphanage then to a foster home, growing older things started to look bleak. In 2006, Bob & Theresa received a call letting them know there was a little girl in China, over 7000 miles away. Asking for a photo they immediately fell in love; a photo of Gia with her beautiful smiling flashing ‘V’ for victory. But that was not it, Gia had some pictures of her with another little girl; a little girl that looked identical to Gia. Gia was attached to this photo and the albums that came with her. She would point at the picture and say several different things; ‘Gonna get a new mommy’, ‘Same mommy as me, same house as me?’  Theresa would tell Gia ‘I hope so’. Bob & Theresa had to find out who this girl was. Gong Fu Cheng was her name, she lived in the same foster home; and later to be renamed Jeannie.

Jeannie was her sister. And together, with their brother Ben (who was also adopted), have built love, life and happiness.
